Dr. Brenda Li


Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Brenda Li graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia and completed her undergraduate studies at University of Toronto, majoring in Pharmacology. She has received extensive training in diagnosing and treating eye diseases while completing her internship at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, externships at the Veteran’s Affair Medical Center in Connecticut and at the Indian Health Services Clinic in Alaska.

Dr. Brenda Li has gained invaluable experiences in areas of:

  • Primary eye care
  • Ocular disease diagnosis and treatment
  • Paediatric eye care
  • Contact Lens fitting
  • Refractive surgery co-management


She is certified by the Board of Examiners of Optometry in Canada and the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs). Also accredited in the United States by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) and the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases (TMOD).

Dr. Brenda Li is currently a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO).

Dr. Jeffrey McAlear


Dr. Jeffrey McAlear was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario and completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical science at the University of Waterloo. He then attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where he was a member of the Beta Sigma kappa honours society. Dr. McAlear gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatric and primary eye care while working in a variety of settings as a student. His clinical externship experience includes working at a Veterans Affairs medical centre and Neighborhood health centre in Boston, a private practice in New Jersey, the Vision Institute of Canada in Toronto, and volunteering in the Dominican Republic with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity.
